Can Theo fire us to the title?

The first thing I thought when Eduardo was injured on Saturday was that we’re down to our last two strikers.

Robin Van Persie may be back in the fold before too long but we can’t rely on him after five months out injured – it happens every season.

Nicklas Bendtner is still not on good terms with Emmanuel Adebayor if the Togo forward’s failure to pass to him on Saturday is anything to go by.

But hang on a minute. Step forward Theo Walcott. A fine cameo on Wednesday against mighty AC Milan and then two goals against Birmingham on Saturday.

So can he cut it? Yes he can! What do YOU think?

Should we stick with Jens?

I never thought I'd feel sorry for Jens Lehmann, but it seems anything is possible in football.

Yep, Big Jens is set to drop back to the bench tomorrow for the Gunners trip to Birmingham - but would you choose the experienced German or the improving Manuel Almunia?

Time for Theo to be given a chance?

After almost creating a winner for Emmanuel Adebayor on Wednesday evening, Theo Walcott must be thinking he is finally good enough to make the grade at Arsenal.

A player who divides opinions at Emirates more than most, especially being that rare thing, an Englishman who Arsene Wenger has signed, is it time he was given a chance to prove his worth, especially With Emmanuel Eboue's impending domestic suspension?

Certainly we've all seen glimpses of his talent and Stuart Pearce waxed lyrical about him in the England under-21s.

But how often have we seen him start matches and wander around anonymously, his confidence waning as he makes another mis-placed pass?

That said, his acceleration would shame even Thierry Henry. If only he had the Frenchman's other talents!

Poll: Who was Arsenal's Man Of The Match against AC Milan?

Last night's game against AC Milan reminded me of the match Arsenal played against CSKA Moscow back in November 2006 - a goal-less draw, despite the Gunners creating numerous chances.

In the away leg of that encounter, Moscow won 1-0, but the difference is that the away tie was played first and this time around Arsenal know exactly what they have to do when they visit San Siro in 12 days time.

Milan showed their pedigree last night, but despite looking dangerous on the break, they did little to test Jens Lehmann.

At the other end of the park Zeljko Kalac was kept busy, but fortunately for him and his Milanese team mates, the Gunners kept on hitting the ball straight at the big keeper. A note to Arsene Wenger - if you're looking for a replacement for Jens Lehmann, an attempt to lure Kalac - who is after all Milan's second choice goalie - might be a good short term move.

As for the home team, there were some terrific performances last night against the European champions...

Your vote: Alexander Hleb was Man Of The Match against Blackburn

We witnessed a number of Arsenal rarities the other night in the game against Blackburn, notably a headed goal from a corner and Alexander Hleb shooting from outside of the penalty area.

The Belarus skipper was unlucky to see his clever low drive rebound off the visitors' post midway through the second half and the No.13 later had Brad Friedel at full stretch to turn away a shot that was heading for the roof of the net.

Despite not finding the goal, there was success to come for Hleb, as it was well-timed run and precision pass to Emmanuel Adebayor that set up Arsenal's late winner to secure the points for the league leaders.

Indeed, Hleb's overall contribution on Monday was outstanding and that's what led you lot to naming him your Arsenal Pies Man Of The Match, with a 49% share of the vote...

Poll: Who was Arsenal's Man Of The Match against Blackburn?

Arsenal easily avoided the potential banana skin waiting for them in last night's game against Blackburn to record a journeyman victory over Mark Hughes' men and stretch their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

A Gunners rareity - a headed goal from a corner - broke the deadlock within four minutes of kick-off, when Philippe Senderos, who was playing despite a knee ligament niggle, rose high above the Blackburn defence to bullet Cesc Fabregas's cross into the back of the visitors' net.

And that was it, largely, for the first half, with Arsenal dominating the game and enjoying some great spells of silky football, but doing little to trouble Brad Friedel in the Blackburn goal.

It wasn't all Arsenal though, as Blackburn did pass the ball well and looked likely to threaten the slender lead, but in truth, aside from clutching some David Bentley corners, Jens Lehmann only had one save to make in the game - and that effort looked as if it was off target...

Your vote: Emmanuel Adebayor was Man Of The Match against Manchester City

Cementing his place as the Premier League's most potent striker, Emmanuel Adebayor enjoyed a great trip to Manchester last weekend, with his brace helping Arsenal become the first team to beat City at Eastlands this season.

Indeed, not only did Ade-cool clinically finish off two great Arsenal moves, but he also proved that Thierry Henry wasn't the only Gunners marksman who can provide assists, as it was the Togo striker who crossed the ball for team-mate Eduardo to spectacularly scissor-kick the visitors' second goal of the day.

Manu's double took his league tally to 18, while his goals for the season now stand at 21. If you had asked me at the start of the campaign whether we had a player capable of scoring 20-plus this season, I might have said Eduardo, but Adebayor's improvement this year has been a joy to behold.

And there will hopefully be a few more to come. Arsenal have at least 16 games left this season - 13 in the league, one FA Cup and two Champions League - and hopefully more if we can overpower Man United in the domestic competition and AC Milan in Europe...
