United Airlines Passenger Arrested After Security Concern

Jan 09, 2016, 23:43

Police are investigating after a Denver-bound flight from Anchorage was diverted to the Vancouver International Airport on Saturday, officials said.

United Airlines website says crew members found the message on the flight that left Anchorage, Alaska at 11:39 p.m. Friday night. But "the crew elected" to cut the journey short after finding the message, United spokesman Charlie Hobart said.

The witness said the passenger seemed unstable and had been getting up and down a lot in his seat.

The Mounted Police tweet added that the incident wasn't affecting operations at Vancouver's airport on Saturday morning, a fact seconded by the airport itself. "We are cooperating with the authorities and working to rebook our customers on an alternate flight".

A suspect aboard an United Airlines diverted flight is now in the custody of Richmond RCMP.
