"The big-government policies of President Obama have failed North Carolinians over the past eight years, and we're excited to usher in a new era of conservatism with Marco Rubio", Hager said in a statement.

Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio is holding a rally with supporters in North Carolina this weekend.

Throughout the 2016 campaign cycle, Rubio has been criticized for his shifting immigration views - both from conservatives who favor a harder line on deporting undocumented immigrants and from others who champion a pathway to citizenship. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), and also included presidential candidate John Kasich, the governor of Ohio.

"I mean, we are people that can tolerate differences and respect people, and this is just nonsense", Kasich said Saturday at the Kemp Foundation Forum on Expanding Opportunity Saturday in Columbia, South Carolina. In November, Rubio proposed ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, a 2012 policy that protected from deportation anyone under the age of 16 who entered the country illegally. The Rubio event was set for the smaller Holshouser Building.

"When you went to college in the seventies, you appreciate a protest", Kasich quipped. Rubio said after the forum was repeatedly interrupted.

"Marco, you're on a roll, keep going", Ryan replied after Rubio reacted to the protesters.

He also hinted with a laugh that he might have to imitate Donald Trump's reaction to protesters.
