Has Alexander Hleb played his last game for Arsenal?

If the rumours in the press are to be believed, Belarus international Alexander Hleb will be the third player to leave Arsenal during the summer, following Mathieu Flamini and Jens Lehmann out of the Emirates Stadium door.

Hleb's agent has been touting around his client for some time now and despite the 27-year-old claiming he is happy to remain a Gunner, it appears as if the lure of the almighty Euro is proving too tempting for Hleb and a transfer request has supposedly been handed to Arsene Wenger.

Now I'm a big fan of Hleb, but if he is truly unhappy with his deal at Arsenal, then I'm not going to cry too much is he is allowed to leave, especially if the speculation is true that the likes of Inter Milan, AC Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid could be about to get into a bidding war for the talented midfielder.

With Inter already admitting their interest, Real boss Bernd Schuster has thrown his hat into the ring by saying, "Over the past two months we've made a plan and now we know what we want, but we've also added Hleb. We didn't originally know that he may leave Arsenal but now it seems that he will, and we were surprised by that."

With those European giants mooted to be pondering a £15 million offer for Hleb, the extra boost to Wenger's transfer budget would allow Le Gaffer to bring in someone the calibre of Hatim Ben Arfa or perhaps even Yaya Toure to bolster the Gunners' midfield options.

Do you think Hleb will leave north London? If so, who would you like to see brought in to strengthen the Arsenal squad? Share your thoughts here.

i think that it would be a good idea if wenger gave hleb plus 10mil for robihno or barcelona gives us yaya toure and money for him or maybe we give hleb and 10mil to inter to get ibrahimovic because we cant afford to lose anyore players. If wenger stuck with this idea hleb would get what he wants by leaving wenger gets a good forward or midfielder and all of us gooners are happy because we would have a big name in our team.

Yes, more than the football which Arsenal can match for any big clubs in Europe, the lure of higher wages will make Hleb choose other teams like Real or Inter over Arsenal. But it suits with the Gunners policy of selling players when they have value in the market and invest in yougsters like Samir Nasri, Hatem Ben Arfa or relatively unknown, but talented younsters which Wenger seems to identify regularly in French football.

Look we understand Hleb is a great player but whats all the fuss for, if he wants to leave then let him do so. Im sure Wenger can get players just as good as him like Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and even Rocque Santa Cruz.

We moved on without Henry and im sure we can move on without Hleb

We can afford to lose Hleb if Nasri is coming.

my main issue with hleb is his lack of goals. compare him to Ljumberg or pires. It doesnt matter how skillfull you are with the ball, if you can't score goals as an attacking midfielder then whats your use? i will take either of those two anytime

I think the unwritten subtext here is that Hleb is unlikely to get as much playing time as he did this year. A healthy Rosicky scores more goals from the wing, as does Walcott. Wenger's said that Theo's ready for first team football next season. Plus, Eduardo will be back, there's a good chance of Nasri / Ben Arfa coming in, Eboue (inexplicably) eats up a bunch of minutes. Hleb might just find himself out of the first team if he stays around. If he is at all worried about that, then he's likely to go get as much of a payday as possible, as this might be his last chance!

a team like Arsenal is more dependent on team chemistry rather than individual brilliance, although hleb may not be scoring too many goals, he ads to the creativity. loosing him now could be disastrous considering flamoney has already left. it will take nasri and other signing some time to build up the required level of co-ordination that hleb and cesc have, so if i was in wenger's position i would certainly like keep hleb in my team until walcott and nasri are ready for induction...

I believe as an arsenal fan it is best not to bring in too many new players.. But Yaya Toure would be addition to the club along side with his brother Kolo Toure not only this will bulid chemistry between the mid and defense. Having Hatem Ben Arfa
and with Vela returning there is more than enough strikers. Adding another defender lik Kompany would be lovely as there is a struggle some young players against big clubs =) All the best Arsenal Proof the media wrong and Man Utd that we are up to their standard !! =)
