With make or break game, is it time to throw caution to the wind?

Robin Van Persie's glass legs have once again sidelined the player as his recurrent thigh injury forced him off at half time during last Wednesday's Champions League clash with Liverpool. But with tomorrow night's game effectively make or break for Arsenal's season, I hope Arsene Wenger will at least put him on the bench.

Arsenal can have seven substitutes on the bench tomorrow and with nothing to lose and everything to gain, I really hope that RvP will make it into the squad. He was withdrawn last week as a precaution and was allowed to rest on Saturday, so even if he isn't 100% fit, having such a player on the subs bench would be a real bonus if the team still needs him with 20 minutes to go.

Unfortunately it looks as if Bacary Sagna will miss the Liverpool game, but Gael Clichy will return after being rested at the weekend and I reckon that Gilberto might retain his place after an excellent performance on Saturday.

Hopefully Alexander Hleb will have benefited from the rest he had at the weekend, as he only played the last 10 minutes of the league game. Mind you, some shooting practice for the Belarus captain wouldn't go amiss, as that's the only part of his game that is woefully sub standard.

Anyway, ahead of the squad's announcement, share your thoughts here on who you'd like to see line up against Liverpool tomorrow. Here's who I'd choose:

Eboue Toure Gallas Clichy
Walcott Fabregas Gilberto Flamini
Hleb Adebayor

Subs: Lehmann, Senderos, Hoyte, Denilson, Diaby, Van Persie, Bendtner

I have to go with;

Toure, Senderos, Gallas, Clichy
Eboue, Cesc, Flamini, Hleb
Bendtner, Ade

I could potentially see Hleb being moved behind Ade with Diaby coming in instead.
Theo to come on with 30 mins left or depending on the result maybe extra time!!!

gilberto does nothing but disrupt the midfield partnership of cesc and flamini. he clogs the middle of the field that they already control so nicely. we need width. to open up the center of the field.

Eboue, Toure, Gallas, Clichy
Walcott, Cesc, Flamini, Diaby

I agree with you that Gilberto had a great game against Pool on Saturday. He was everywhere, and I really do think he should retain his place at the expense of Flamini. Flamini really looked out of place and short on ideas last Saturday so I'd go for:

Eboue Toure Gallas Clichy
Hleb Fabregas Gilberto Diaby
Bendtner Adebayor

Walcott could come on to inject pace in the last 20-30 mins of the game as we saw he gave Pool a torrid time down the left in the last match. I'm not really sure about van Persie though. He's been looking rusty and I have my doubts on whether he may be able to positively contribute to the game.

Walcott scared the hell out of Liverpool last week, I'd bring him on fresh at the start of the second half and see how the tiring Liverpool defence handle him.
