Who should replace Eduardo next season?

With the transfer market closed, there's nothing Arsene Wenger can do to sign a replacement after Eduardo's injury at the weekend.

Even the most optimistic of people accept that it will be 2009 before the Croatian striker returns, unless a minor medical miracle occurs.

So with the usual suspects of Obafemi Martins, Samuel Eto'o, Adriano, David Villa and Miroslav Klose certain not to be targets, Arsene Wenger has some tricky decisions to make.

Does he go Double Dutch and sign Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who with 26 goals in 29 games this season is in the form of his life – and is certain to adapt quickly to English football?

Does he risk upsetting our North London neighbours once more and sign Dimitar Berbatov after another year when Tottenham fail to make it to the Champions League?

Does he break his golden rule about players making a return to the Club and sign prodigal son Thierry Henry after his difficult year in Spain?

Or does he stick with what he’s got and hope that Walcott, Van Persie, Adebayor, Bendtner and Nacer Barazite, who is knocking in the goals for the Reserves?

Bullocks to huntelaar, he will sign for Man U, if anyone at all. I say go for the counter-point to danny alves, get Diego Capel!

Agree that Eduardo's injury leaves us a bit thin on the ground (for this season, far less next).
RVP has been out so long, he will need several games to approach match fitness. Barazite from what I have seen on Arsenal TV looks a bit raw and needs to fill out a bit for the rigours of the Premier League.Walcott could be the short-term answer and we seem to get more evidence of his pace through the middle than we ever see down the wing.
As for next year, I'm sure we would all love Berbatov, although the transfer for us might be more than other clubs.Henry,I think has too much pride to consider coming back.Goalscorers in the Dutch league seem to be poorer now than in the past.
Leave it to AW to go outside the normal transfer market and unearth another Cesc playing in the Bosnian second division.
