Picture special: Manchester City v Arsenal

A controlled performance left nobody in any doubt about the identity of the superior side at Eastlands on Saturday, with Arsenal meting out a 3-1 footballing lesson to Manchester City.

At 2-1 up, the Gunners soaked up all the pressure that City put on them to try to get the equaliser and in typical form, with a couple of minutes left on the clock, Emmanuel Adebayor scored his second of the game to wrap up all three points.

And a couple of hours later, the rare event of Arsenal fans celebrating a Tottenham result happened, as the Spuds held Manchester United to a draw. I say held, but in truth, the Lilywhites should have beaten the Mancs, but as it was they lost their concentration about five seconds too early as Carlos Tevez scored the equaliser in the 94th minute with the last kick of the game.

Still, with both Man United and Chelsea dropping points, Arsenal secured top spot again to maitain our championship challenge.
