An open letter

Happy birthday Martin O'Neill. I know it's your birthday tomorrow and you'll be hoping to celebrate in North London, but it ain't gonna happen.

Who cares about the passport?

Tomorrow we face Aston Villa, a side featuring the likes of John Carew, Olaf Mellberg, Stiliyan Petrov, Patrick Berger and Martin Laursen.

So why, yet again, does an opposing manager decide it's relevant to discuss the nationalities of our team in comparison to his own?

Have we seen the best of Diaby yet?

Abou Diaby should have been the new Patrick Vieira.

I remember in particular a run he went on at the Bernabeu a couple of years ago when he came on in what was to prove to be a momentous night for Arsenal, and he blew me away.

Here was a player with all PV's attributes but a more attacking style as well. But now I'm not sure if he has a future at Arsenal.

Picture the scene...

After 210 minutes of breathtaking action, nothing separates AC Milan and Arsenal in their Champions League tie.

Arsene Wenger is frustrated by the poor quality of the San Siro pitch,as he indicated in his press conference the day before, but his players have just lacked the cutting edge necessary to take advantage of Milan's ageing backline.

Theo, this is your time - don't let us down!

With Robin Van Persie coming back to fitness and tipped for a place on the bench in Milan, Theo Walcott hasn't got a lot of chances to prove his worth upfront.

Last Saturday's performance at Birmingham is what we should have been seeing from the young lad for the last two years, not so rarely that it gives people like me something to write about.
