Should Arsenal consider swapping Nicky B for Adriano?

Nicklas Bendtner’s father has revealed Arsene Wenger rebuffed Inter Milan’s advances for Arsenal’s young Danish hitman in the summer.

According to Setanta Sports, the Italian champions proposed to swap out-of-favour Brazilian striker Adriano for 19-year-old Bendtner but Le Boss was having none of it.

He opted to continue his harnessing of Bendtner’s talents at London Colney and Bendtner senior, who is also his son’s agent, says he is confident his son will get his chance for a prolonged period in the Gunners’ starting eleven during what will be a long, gruelling campaign on four fronts.

However, he also warned that if Bendtner did not make sufficient progress this term, they would reassess the situation during the summer.

Although Adriano is currently out of favour for both club and country his talents are indisputable. He’s a beast in he air and possesses one of the most powerful and accurate left foots in the game. On the downside, he not nearly as mobile as he once was and mobility, as we all know, is a trademark of most Wenger signings.

Would you be in favour of such a deal? Should we consider a swap? Would Adriano be suited to the Arsenal style of play? Is he equipped to cope with the rigours of our domestic game? Post a comment and leave your thoughts below…
