What the papers say: Arsenal in seventh heaven

Liverpool must be shaking in their shoes. Arsenal made it 12 back-to-back wins last night with a 7-0 demolition of Champions League opponents Slavia Prague, as the Gunner's showed they can still improve on their magnificent form. There's not a lot else to say, but here's what the sports writers are making of our performance.

The Sun - Arsenal 7 Slavia Prague 0
Arsene Wenger finally let Theo Walcott off the leash as his goal-hungry Gunners made Champions League history. The strike ace, 18, is just old enough to vote but has already got the thumbs-up from the boss after coming of age last night.

The Times - Theo Walcott takes lead as Arsenal present the magnificent seven
Arsene Wenger called for the return of Theo Walcott to the England squad after the teenage forward scored twice in Arsenal’s 7-0 Champions League swamping of Slavia Prague at the Emirates Stadium last night.

The Mirror - Lehmann blast for Wenger
Jens Lehmann last night warned Arsene Wenger that it would be dangerous to "humiliate" him any longer in an astonishing outburst on his Arsenal misery. Lehmann, who also launched an attack on his Gunners goalkeeping rival Manuel Almunia, promised to speak out publicly against manager Wenger unless he regains his place in the Arsenal first team.

The Independent - Walcott hogs the limelight on Arsenal's joyous night
Little Theo Walcott, a nation turns its lonely eyes to you. The Englishman in the most lustrous attacking football team in the country finally got his chance to sparkle last night and his two goals gave English football something it could cling to. As the national team prepares to enter a long, dark winter of the soul, any fragile hope will do.

The Telegraph - Dazzling Arsenal in seventh heaven
Planet football, if not already alerted to the brave new world taking shape in London N5, will take notice with increased concern this morning after Arsenal touched new heights to humiliate the Czechs of Slavia Prague.

The Guardian - Ferguson and Wenger salute their great entertainers
Arsenal have been stealing the limelight from Manchester United in the Premier League this season and they did so in Europe last night. On an evening when Sir Alex Ferguson's team won 4-2 at Dynamo Kiev, Arsene Wenger's side demolished Slavia Prague 7-0. Wenger has enjoyed some memorable European nights as Arsenal manager but never a win as resounding as that at Emirates Stadium last night.

The Daily Mail - Cool-hand Theo has 'touch of Thierry' as Arsenal go seven up
Theo Walcott crowned his first start as a centre forward in the Champions League with two goals as Arsenal all but booked their place in the knock-out phase with a 7- 0 destruction of Slavia Prague.

The Daily Express - Gunners rout of this world
Arsenal were simply magnificent as they hit seven past Slavia Prague in the Champions League last night. Cesc Fabregas led the assault as the Gunners grabbed their third straight win in the group by hitting their record score in the competition.

The Daily Star - Seventh heaven for Gunners
Arsenal’s unbeaten Euro kids found themselves in seventh heaven with a stunning show at the Emirates last night. They demolished Slavia Prague to all but book their place in the Champions League knockout stages after three straight wins in Group H.
