Can Lee-less Bolton cause a shock on Saturday? Unlikely

Thank God for that. Internationals are over for a while at least and we can get back to the real stuff.

Bolton up next, at home and even with Robin van Persie looking unlikely to take part after sustaining a knee injury playing for Holland yesterday, we should have more than enough to dispose of a manager-less Wanderers side to continue our peerless start to the Premier League campaign.

I fancy Eduardo to come in alongside Emmanuel Adebayor up front but as always, we’ll find out more when Arsene Wenger conducts his usual Thursday pre-match interview with Arsenal.com later today.

The extent of Van Persie’s injury should be made a little clearer by Le Boss but assuming he is out then Nicklas Bendtner may also get the playing time he has been demanding in recent weeks.

Other than that, William Gallas made his long-awaited return from injury by completing the entire 90 minutes as two goals by Thierry Henry secured a 2-0 win for France over Lithuania.

Bolton have not made the best of starts under the stewardship of Little Sam and after the former Liverpool man’s departure from the Reebok yesterday, it’s difficult to predict which kind of team will turn up. Encouragingly, Nicolas Anelka, who just loves scoring against us, is rated doubtful after sitting out France’s win last night.

His absence would obviously be a major plus for Arsenal as the former Gunner is just about the only player who has been performing with regularity for the Trotters this term.

They have scored an average of 0.8 goals per game on their travels this season, having played nine, lost six, drawn two and won just one of their games.

They have scored nine and conceded 14 to leave themselves lying second-bottom in the table, with only the goal difference preventing them from propping up the table in place of Derby County.

Bolton have scored at an average time of 19 minutes on the road this term while tending to concede around the 24 minute mark.

By contrast, at Emirates Stadium, Arsenal score their first goal around the 38 minute mark and concede on average after 29 minutes.

That said, I’m going for a 4-1 Arsenal triumph, with Bolton scoring first and Eduardo banging in his first Premier League goal.
