Arsenal give trial to Palacios

The Gunners have handed a trial to 23-year-old Honduras midfielder Wilson Palacios. The classy wide man can play on the right hand side of midfield or at right-back and has an eye for goal.

With no real out-and-out right wingers at the club, Arsene Wenger clearly feels the side lacks a bit of natural width at the moment. Perhaps Palacios will be another hidden gem discovered by our mecurial French talent-spotter.

Check out the video clip above for a stunning goal from our latest trialist - David Beckham's goal against Wimbledon back in 1996 was good...but this goal's even better...take a look and see and if you've seen Wilson Palacios in action let us know your thoughts what you think of him.

last season wilson palacios played for honduran club Olimpia. he is a regular in Honduras`national team and that goal was scored in a game between Olimpia and (rivals) Marathon. their are a few other hondurans playing in europe:
david suazo (inter, italy), carlo costly (belchatow, poland), maynor suazo (cologne fc, germany).
wilson palacios just took part in try outs with red star of belgrade but due to economical issues he rejected the club.

Wilson Palacios is one if not the best Honduran player in my opinion, he is more talented than David Suazo the Inter of Milan player with the ball in his feet. The call him Harry Potter in Honduras because of his magic with the ball in his feet, he can play all over the field besides the wing and midfield.

He is a great player, has a good vision on the pitch, has goal, fast, his hole family are football players, has like four more brothers that are players but he is the best one, he played with the most important team in Honduras and one of the best in Central America, Olimpia F.C. He has never been out of the country and needs the opportunity to grow, he can give much more with the propper management. Hope this info helps.

I saw this goal and he's a great player, did you know that in his country they use to call him "Harry Potter"? This guy must have something, give him a try!!!

Thanks for all your contributions guys - sounds like a cracking player. If anyone's got a decent highlights reel of him in action, feel free to ping it into us...the stuff on the web at the moment of him is pretty poor in terms of the quality of the footage.

you can check this other highlight from him playing in Honduras, he scores the second goal

He is a great player. Venger has a great eye to contract player with brilliant future, and i'm sure that he will stay with Palacios.

hey check this out:;=related&search;=

this are some videos of wilson, hes an amazing player. incredibly talented with the ball, he`s quick, and scores many goals. Here in Honduras we call him "Harry Potter" cause when the ball is in his feet he does magic with it.

great player but he is not better than suazo
also there is this other player in hinduras who might be better than him handling the ball and scoring wise.

wilson palacios is a stunning player he is a midfielder but makes goals like a striker, the past season in honduras they called him harry potter or the black santa claus, cause he brought alot of joy to olimpia fans in christmas , cause he scored the winning goal for the championship title, palacios is great but i prefered him playing in areal team like chelsea,

Wilson Palacios is a good player. He began his career playing as a right full back then moved to center midfielder and now he is an attacking midfielder who often moves to the wing. His versatility has helped is club Olimpia reach many victories. If I were to compare Wilson to a european player I would say he is a Wesley Sneijder type of player. However, Wilson loves doing roulettes, nutmegs, stepovers, etc. once he tried the elastico but it went wrong...anyways he isn't Ronaldinho but will provide depth in Arsenal with his assists and would allow Fabregas to defend a little bit more. Arsenal should sign the Honduran.

I believe he deserves a place in Arsenal, he's an excellent player

wilson is hell of a good player man..! im honduran and i love this guy's game, its the midfield engine of olimpia.. the best team of honduras, so i think he has his place for the best team of england which is arsenaal..!! lets go gunnersss..!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: robert | August 22, 2007 6:51 AM

wilson palacios lacks consistency and definition he is not better than suazo(Inter)or Edgar Alvarez(Roma),Julio de Leon(Genoa)who are deffinetly great honduran players,im sure that with good coaching hell get a little better, but other than that he will not turn out to be such a good option 4 the gunners.

Wilson Palacios born and raised in La Ceiba, Honduras,my home town, thats were all the best players are gon be coming out of, this guy is one of the few and two best wizards the honduras national team has got along with Julio(Rambo)De Leon and thats wat we need, and that ability allows him to carry the midfield and attack, i just hope, the english see his talent (eventhough he aint brazilian or Argentinian) and their tops teams acquire him.
He is going to be the new David Suazo for Honduras but in a whole nother level.
